We’ve welcomed some new friends to our farm!
Years ago Christine was hired at a farm as the orchard manager and beekeeper. Orchard manager was her specialty but she knew nothing about beekeeping- Enter her mentor Bill and 35 honeybee hives!
Bill taught Christine everything he knew about gentle, low intervention, natural beekeeping.
Working with honeybees is such a special experience and Bill truly opened her eyes to that. Well, Bill had 6 well loved hives of his own in New York, but he is moving to Vermont. He approached us recently and asked if we would like to take them and after a little convincing (can we handle more work!?!) we said we’d love to have the bees at our farm.
These special bees arrived on October 3rd and are doing well getting situated at their new home. We are so excited and grateful for the opportunity to care for honeybees here.
